DURGA
PUJA : THE FESTIVE SEASON, WHEN CESC CATERS MAXIMUM LOAD DEMANDIn Hindu mythology, Shakti symbolises the divine energy. It is believed that when the demons attacked the Gods and conquered heaven, the energies of the trinity of the Hindu Gods coalesced to create the Goddess Durga. In the battle, she fought and killed the evil Mahishasur and restored heaven to the Gods. The Durga Puja is observed in her honour,to celebrate her victory over evil. Durga puja is the favorite festival of the people of eastern India, especially the people of West Bengal. Durga puja is celebrated in the autumn months of September/October. It is the time of the year when the weather is at its moderate best giving the air a festive touch. The most attractive part of the celebrations is the puja mandaps, which are brightly colored, gaily decorated and heavily lighted.Durga puja is celebrated in the autumn months of September/October.
